Druid changes: narrower discounts, different shifting and more casting regeneration
Hybrid talents need role-specific reading. A better number can arrive with narrower coverage or a new resource rule.

Early beta · Starting plans for level 20
What we would play, and why.
We would build around the form you spend time in, while keeping a specific second job ready. Repeated shifting and old weapon routines need a fresh reading of the Forever mechanics.
Furor is not a license to copy an Era powershift
Do not assume an immediate out-and-back shift supplies the same fresh Energy as an old guide. Start by measuring the resource before and after the shift. We favor purposeful exits to heal or reposition over repeated shifting whose mana cost you have not justified.
A burst window does not set your permanent stat priority
That makes extra critical chance a different proposition inside that window, but it does not settle the rest of a fight. Auto-attacks, finishers, time outside Berserk and defensive value still matter. We would not turn the clip into a universal Strength-over-Agility rule for leveling gear.
Cat travel and Bear survival are different investments
For a quest circuit with frequent movement, Cat speed has value between fights as well as during them. For a dungeon tanking session, inspect the Bear benefit and your survival gear separately. The shared Feral tree does not make one equipment set the best answer for both jobs.
Three trees. Different possibilities.

Begin with cheaper form attacks, take Cat movement, and reach Feral Charge at 20.
When to choose differently: A shifting-focused alternative replaces the three Heart of the Wild points and Feral Charge with four points in Furor.
Use forms with a purpose
At 10, Bear Form gives a new questing rhythm: fight in form, heal between enemies and recover mana while using Rage. At 20, compare Cat damage with the Bear option.
Prepare the second job
In Cat, build combo points with Claw and use Rip when the target will survive the bleed. In Bear, spend Rage on Maul for one target or Swipe when handling several.
Read the current talent
Inspect Furor and Natural Shapeshifter before copying an old powershifting setup. The retained Classic names do not establish identical Forever behavior.
Choose a route that suits your toolkit
Better pulls before longer journeys.
Combine travel and nearby objectives, using stealth when it saves a detour without trapping you behind respawns. Plan group stops where changing role will help, rather than carrying an unused healing set all evening.
- Opening journeyYour starting region
Finish nearby quest clusters and check trainer / profession stops. Blizzard is adding stories and profession hooks to existing starting areas.
- Opening beta · up to 20Try the next local hub
Classic geography gives a planning baseline: Elwynn → Westfall, Dun Morogh → Loch Modan, Teldrassil → Darkshore, Durotar / Mulgore → the Barrens, or Tirisfal → Silverpine. These are route suggestions, not verified Forever quest sequences.

Blizzard describes a new questing region in this range. Keep it on your launch route; it is beyond the announced beta level caps.

Tradeoffs, not a universal “best”Profession pairings
Editorial starting points using the Classic crafting foundation. Forever recipe value is still being established.
A self-crafting path to investigate while questing through beast-heavy areas, especially for a Feral plan.
A supplies-focused alternative for healing or casting sessions. Compare the benefit of stocked consumables with the time spent gathering.
PvP: a different set of decisions
Your flexibility is the advantage to practice: change position, escape pressure and support allies. Assess the mana cost of repeated form changes before planning around them.
Choose your next gear upgrade.
Separate Cat damage, Bear survival and caster/healer equipment.
New itemization and recipes can change familiar gear choices.
Our reasoning and research
Our recommendations weigh the talent toolkit, player observations and the kind of session you want to have. Early beta impressions do not establish a final best build.

Furor is not a license to copy an Era powershift
Sodapoppin questions how the new powershifting loop works. The current Furor text describes recovering previous Cat Energy plus Energy for time outside the animal combat forms.

A larger discount leaves healing behind
Moonglow’s new wording covers damaging spells. Our take: this is attractive for sustained damage, but the old healing-spell discount is not part of this talent’s listed benefit anymore.
Moonglow
3% less Mana for six named damage and healing spells.
8% less Mana for damaging spells.
The discount increases while the eligible spell group changes.
The percentages apply to different sets of spells; this is not a blanket five-point hybrid efficiency gain.

Cat shifting uses a different Energy rule
The Cat portion replaces a chance to receive 40 Energy with a retained-Energy and time-outside-forms calculation. We would test the actual shift sequence before recommending an old powershifting habit.
Furor
20% chance to gain 40 Energy on entering Cat Form.
Partial previous Energy plus time outside the listed forms, capped at 20 Energy at rank one.
Cat shifting changes from the listed chance-based grant to a conditional recovery rule.
Do not add the old 40-Energy grant to the new formula; the Bear portion still has its separate chance.

- Classic Era
- Gives you 20% chance to gain 10 Rage when you shapeshift into Bear and Dire Bear Form or 40 Energy when you shapeshift into Cat Form.
- Forever beta
- Gives you a 20% chance to gain 10 Rage when you shapeshift into Bear Form or Dire Bear Form. When you shift into Cat Form, you will regain 20% of the Energy you had when you were last in Cat Form, plus 2 Energy for each second you spent not in Bear Form, Cat Form, or Dire Bear Form, up to a maximum of 20 Energy.
More of your regeneration survives casting
Reflection raises the share of regeneration retained while casting. That can support longer casting stretches, but the character still needs regeneration for the percentage to act on.
