Our original articles

Original articles and reading guides use the WoW Scroll Editorial identity and our site logo. We are an independent fan project. Our byline is separate from the Blizzard announcements, creator work and player discussions we reference.

We place source links beside the claims they support and caption images to explain their context.

Follow the story to its source

Announcements should point to the developer’s original statement. Creator coverage should link to the video, post or stream that supports the account. A short clip can leave out important context; we look for the surrounding discussion before drawing conclusions.

Every original piece needs a clear game edition, sources for its factual claims and something useful beyond a rewritten headline. An old event remains an old event even when its clip is uploaded again.

Covering criticism and disagreement

We can cover an unpopular change, a disputed design decision or a creator’s criticism without pretending everyone agrees. We identify who said what, explain what is known and make our interpretation clear. Rumour, speculation and personal experience must not be presented as established facts.

We do not invent quotes, player experiences or controversy. Criticism should address an argument or action without encouraging harassment.

Credit the people who made it

Creator work keeps its attribution and original link. We use permitted imagery, original explanatory visuals and supported embeds. Credit is not a substitute for permission to copy an image or rehost a video.

Creators can request a correction or removal without a WoW Scroll account. Include the WoW Scroll URL, the original work and enough information to establish your connection to it.

Keep the context current

New coverage needs a recent, verified development. Source dates, event dates and our own publication dates are different facts. An older source can supply clearly labelled background; discovering it today does not make it new.

We check time-sensitive claims before publication and name the relevant game edition and build. Unresolved questions stay visible. Material revisions retain the original publication date and include an update or correction note.

A person remains responsible

Kyle is responsible for publication decisions and corrections. Automated collection helps find candidates; it does not approve them. AI assists with research organization, drafting and a separate editorial review. Sources still need to be inspected, and collection alone never publishes a story. Generated summaries are not firsthand reporting.

Any sponsorship, paid placement or affiliate relationship should be disclosed next to the relevant content.

Correct the record

Send a correction with the article URL and the evidence we should consider. When a material factual error is corrected, the article should carry a visible correction note explaining the change. Small spelling or formatting fixes do not make an old article newly reported news.
