WoW Forever’s Fang set has a scaly surprise for Druids
A familiar Wailing Caverns set is getting Druids noticed for something other than its stats: a serpent appearance, race-specific colours and a slithering Prowl animation.
Five pieces, one very different Druid
Wailing Caverns has a new reason to tempt a Druid back inside. Player Noah, posting as BwuhMG, shared screenshots of a serpent character and a completed Embrace of the Viper set, better known by its “of the Fang” item names. His screenshots show the serpent appearance alongside a complete 5/5 Embrace of the Viper set.
WoW Classic designer Aidan “Zirene” Moon added the detail that makes this especially charming: each Druid race gets a different snake colour. When you prowl, the snake lowers itself and slithers along the ground.

Which five pieces are in the Fang set?
The completed set in the screenshot contains five leather pieces. The chest is Armor of the Fang, paired with Belt of the Fang and Footpads of the Fang. Gloves of the Fang and Leggings of the Fang finish the set.
The snake appearance and Dream Venom are different details
Dream Venom adds a little bite to the set: the five-piece tooltip in BwuhMG’s screenshot says melee attacks have a chance to stun the target for one second. Wowhead lists Dream Venom as the five-piece bonus. Neither tells us what activates the serpent appearance, so a Dream Venom stun should not be treated as its trigger.
| What you get | What the evidence tells us |
|---|---|
| Serpent appearance | BwuhMG reports it with the full set. Zirene describes different colours by race and slithering while prowling. |
| Dream Venom | The screenshot’s tooltip says melee attacks have a chance to stun for one second. It does not explain the appearance change. |
Two reasons the complete set stands out
Serpent appearance
- What the evidence tells us
- BwuhMG reports it with the full set. Zirene describes different colours by race and slithering while prowling.
Dream Venom
- What the evidence tells us
- The screenshot’s tooltip says melee attacks have a chance to stun for one second. It does not explain the appearance change.
A dungeon souvenir you can actually become
For Druids who collect unusual appearances, the serpent is a reason to revisit Wailing Caverns beyond the set’s stats.
A few practical questions still need answers before treating this as a permanent appearance unlock: must all five pieces stay equipped, which form or action activates it, and can transmog preserve it? Neither the screenshots nor the designer reply settles those points. If you’re testing it in beta, keep all five pieces equipped while you work out exactly what triggers and preserves the appearance.
Sources and context
Based on BwuhMG’s September 19 screenshots, Zirene’s reply and the linked set data. We have not tested the transformation ourselves. The screenshots do not identify a beta build number; appearance persistence and exact activation requirements remain unconfirmed.
